I love peaches, a great sweet treat in the summer. We're going to look into why they're so super healthy for us and also how you can incorporate them into your diet beyond just as a snack, So first of all they are high in fiber, two grams of fiber in a peach.

Peaches are good colon health helping to reduce the risk of colon cancer. It’s also going to be great for lowering our cholesterol and to be wonderful for a weight loss program and at only sixty calories per peach.

They are low glycemic although they're sweet they're not going to spike your blood sugar so there is localized Simek food and that goes a long way in any weight loss or weight maintenance program.

Peache is going to be great for being diabetic friendly they're also loaded with antioxidants so antioxidants are why they are considered a superfood and there are many of them one of them is beta-carotene.

which in our bodies gets converted to vitamin A which is wonderful for heart health and for our eye health and again anti-cancer properties which we'll get into in a moment it's also high in vitamin C and vitamin C is helpful for you and boosting it helps to form collagen so it's great for our skin it's great for our vessel health and heart and heart health it has about 14 15% of our recommended daily allowance in a peach.

it also is high in vitamin A about 7% of our daily allowance there again skin healthy heart healthy and it has about 7% recommended daily allowance of potassium so that high potassium is going to be wonderful for helping to keep our blood pressure at a nice low

level and so it is great for blood pressure-lowering heart health and skin health and eye health as well it has Lydian within it and Lydian it has been shown to reduce the risk of macular degeneration leading cause of blindness and cataracts.

so that's wonderful now it also has anti-cancer compounds so Lydian is important but also lycopene. .we often hear about that in relation to tomatoes for example and helping to decrease prostate cancer and there are polyphenols in peaches which have been suggested to help reduce the risk of breast cancer.

so lots of great reasons why you might want to incorporate these into your diet now one word of caution though is that peaches have this wonderful fuzz on them the peach fuzz and that helps to keep those insects at bay but it also can trap insecticides so they're actually on the list of the Dirty Dozen so although they have a lot of great properties the Dirty Dozen is a list that the environmental working group puts out each and every year.

In 2022 this is number five on that and so that's a list of foods they're most heavily laden with insecticides and

pesticides so how I use that list is for my organic buying dollar because organic tends to cost a little more I will choose those dirty dozen to buy organic and some of the ones that are not on that list or that are on the clean 15

the

list I might just buy conventional.

· you can choose how you want to do that as well now how can we incorporate these into our diet well just grabbing them and having them as a snack as a dessert is wonderful you can top them on cereals or yogurt parfaits you can also make a fruit salad out of that and pop them in green salads are really wonderful and refreshing so really nice and juicy and then you can also chop them up and add some other ingredients to it make a salsa and a peach salsa is wonderful on top of chicken or on top of fish or in fish tacos you can also make some wonderful sauce as we did a coconut chicken finger recipe recently and then added peaches blended it up with honey and a number of other great spices to make a peach a spicy sweet peach dip for chicken fingers so you can make some dips you can make a barbecue sauce lots of great ways to incorporate these you can also grill them so we've also done a kebab and they can grill peaches just on the grill or you can grill them on the kebab makes it really easy and that really brings out even more of the sweetness of the peaches so lots of great ways to incorporate peaches and of course desserts so how do you like to enjoy peaches do you have a favorite recipe or a favorite way of incorporating them. The best way I enjoy eating peaches every year, take fresh peaches after washing, keep them in the refrigerator and then take more than 5 peaches throughout the season. There are three main types of peaches

· Freestone Peaches.

· Clingstone Peaches.

· Donut Peaches and Florida King are the famous beaches in the world.
